People are the measure — everything else follows.
Before a single line is drawn, we ask how a piece of furniture will be used. We observe, sketch around the body, build prototypes and have them tested by real hands. Only when a piece convinces people does it convince us.
Inhouse Design * Artelia
At the start of every Artelia product stands not furniture, but a person — how they sit, lean, find rest. We design from the person outwards, because good outdoor design begins where people are at the centre.
For us, in-house design means we think form, construction and materiality together — not one after another. That is how we create garden furniture that not only looks good, but lasts for years.
What follows is the journey of a design through our studio — from the first sketch to the final, digitally perfected presentation.
Four Phases — People at the Centre
01
ConceptListen First, Then Draw
Every piece begins with the question of how furniture is used. We define proportion, lines and function around people — and check early on whether an idea deserves to be built.
02
PrototypeTested on Real Bodies
Initial prototypes emerge from the concept. We sit in them, adjust dimensions, upholstery and geometry — until seating comfort, appearance and construction are right for people.
03
Handover and DevelopmentTogether with Our Producers
The refined design moves to production — not as an order, but as a collaboration. With our producers we develop detail, choice of materials and craftsmanship to production readiness.
04
CAD · 3D · AIProcessing and Presentation
Finally, each piece is digitally processed: precise CAD data, photorealistic 3D renderings and AI-assisted image editing — the latest methods for presentation at the highest level.
Good design cannot be forced — it is the passion for creating for other people, and that is what makes it valuable.

Responsibility
Longevity is the most honest form of sustainability.
We aim for the highest sustainability achievable — always in balance with durability and price. Because furniture that lasts for years saves more resources than any product quickly replaced. We consider material choice and construction from the very beginning. The result is a balanced relationship between responsibility, longevity and value.
01
Durability First
What lasts does not need replacing — the most effective way to conserve resources.
02
Materials Chosen with Care
Deliberately selected, tested materials in a sensible balance with value and price.
Design Stays
Under One Roof.
Concept, construction and prototype are all created under one roof. No bought-in design, no compromises in execution — we take responsibility for every line ourselves.
